JulieArt Decorative Painting

Decorative Painting includes the use of imagination and play...

Hello!  We hope you are doing well.  Here are some of the fun projects that we have done.  Some are from this last year and a few are a blast from the past.  We love repeat business!

It is an honor to work in our client's homes.  It is especially appreciated when they love our work so much that they call us back to do more work.  Enjoy the show!

This fawn finish was a fun project.  We had a custom stencil made and lots of great feedback from our client.  We dove in making samples to find the perfect solution for this niche area.  After that it was zen in, plaster on and listen to the lovely music.

We have done many projects for this wonderful client.  We could not wait to transform this master bedroom into a Spanish Colonial style design.

Unfortunately, you cannot see the beautiful quatrefoil* stained glass window, which was whited out by the sunshine.  It is responsible for the lovely swirling colors over the bed.

*A quatrefoil is a decorative element consisting of a symmetrical shape which forms the overall outline of four partially overlapping circles of the same diameter.

Faux Tortoise Shell finish

This gorgeous stairwell was done years ago.  Decorative painting can be a great substitute for wallpaper as it can be customized so that the colors, textures and designs can be taylored to the client's needs and desires.   Animal skins, animal fur, and shells are still very popular today.  No tortoises were harmed with this finish!

This very lovely bedroom was plastered with a metallic jade plaster many years ago. Maple leaves were embedded into the plaster and then removed.  Colored pigments were washed over the leaves then wax was applied to seal the wall.  The coral ceiling really makes it pop.  The rose painting was done by our son, Ben M. Young.  You may check out his website at www.benmyoung.com

This Roman Clay gypsum based plaster was a fun project that I helped my friend and fellow artist, Joan Bonetti, with.  She was hired to plaster multiple rooms in this gorgeous home and asked me to take on the large living room part of the project.  It was a pleasure to work with her and her son for several days.  The soft gray beige color is called Saint Sauvant.
